The Apogee Instruments SU-100 Ultraviolet Sensor is a high-performance UV measurement device capable of detecting UV radiation in the 250 to 400 nm range. It features a photodiode and signal processing circuitry housed in an anodized aluminum enclosure, making it robust and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The SU-100 outputs an analog voltage signal that is directly proportional to the incident UV radiation, allowing for direct measurement of UV radiation on a planar surface. The sensor provides output in both photon flux density (μmol/m²·s) and energy flux density (W/m²) units, enabling easy unit conversion for different applications.
With a wide spectral range, the SU-100 measures the total radiation of UVA and UVB. It is typically used for UV radiation measurement in outdoor environments (not recommended for long-term continuous outdoor deployment), laboratory applications with artificial light sources (e.g., germicidal lamps), and monitoring the filtering capabilities and stability of various materials. The sensor has a 180° field of view, allowing it to capture radiation from all angles of a hemisphere. Additionally, the SU-100 offers excellent long-term stability with less than 3% drift per year, measurement repeatability of less than 1%, and a response time of less than 1 millisecond.
