The NL38-G level switch is a mechanical rotating paddle device designed for solid materials (including powders, granules, lumps, and viscous substances) in industrial silos or hoppers. The switch operates by rotating a paddle via a permanent magnet motor. 阻旋料位开关也有的称之为阻旋物位计或者阻旋料位开关、阻旋物位开关等，主要是根据它具体的不同用途的不同名称。阻旋式料位开关是采用交流微电机经减速后，带动检测叶片慢速旋转。当被测物料的料位上升使叶片的转动受到阻挡时，检测机构主轴产生旋转位移。此位移先使一个微动开关动作，发出有料的信号。随后另一个微动开关动作，切断微电机的电源使其停止转动。只要仓内的料位不变，此种状态便将一直保持下去。
